D is for Diarrhoea

Diarrhoea is often worrying for new mums. This can be caused by many things such as viral infection, poor hygiene, or other conditions. Signs of dehydration include pinched skin that does not immediately go back into shape, tearless crying, fewer wet nappies and listlessness.

Keep offering your baby his usual feeds. If your baby has begun taking solid foods offer additional water. Consult your doctor if your baby has more than three loose bowel movements in 24 hours, if he refuses to drink or if he has any signs of dehydration.
